To give every order the care and attention it deserves during our busiest week, our website will transition to a curated collection of Mother’s Day favorites beginning at the close of business on Monday, May 4th.

By focusing on these exclusive designs, we’re able to ensure exceptional quality, freshness, and timely delivery. If you have a custom vision in mind, we highly recommend placing your order prior to the May 4th cutoff.

• The Raceway Road entrance is currently closed
• Our 10th Street entrance remains open, accessible from the East (via Country Club Road)
• Westbound access on 10th Street is closed to through traffic

As conditions may change, we recommend checking our Facebook page or calling ahead for the latest directions.

Getting Here During Construction 🚧

We know the construction at 10th & Raceway has been… an adventure. Here’s the easiest way to reach us:

• Enter from the EAST via 10th Street (Country Club Rd)
• Raceway Road access is currently closed
• 10th Street from the West is also closed

Helpful tip: If your GPS tries to route you to Raceway, skip it—head toward Country Club Rd and come in from the east.

We promise, it’s worth the quick detour—and we’ll have you in and out as smoothly as possible.

Gillespie Florists is Open!

You’ve probably seen the signs, the orange barrels, and the heavy machinery. The rumors are true: the intersection of 10th Street and Raceway Road is officially closed for the construction of a new roundabout! Work began on Monday, March 23, 2026.

While a new roundabout will make navigating our corner smoother in the future, we know that right now, "Road Closed" signs are the last thing you want to see when you're looking for flowers.

We are writing this post with one very clear and very important message for you:

WE ARE FULLY OPEN FOR BUSINESS!

That’s right! Barricades and all, Gillespie Florists is ready to fill your orders, help you browse, and make sure you have the perfect fresh flowers for any occasion.

Navigating to Us

Because we are located directly at the corner, our property can be accessed even when the main intersection is closed. As a customer, you are officially considered "Local Traffic," which means you are permitted to drive through the initial barricades (located at 10th & Country Club or Raceway & Rockville) to reach our parking lot.

We have two main entrances that we can swap between as construction moves:

• From the East (10th Street): Travel West on 10th Street from Country Club Road to reach our Northeast entrance.
• From the South (Raceway Road): Travel North on Raceway Road from Rockville Road to reach our Southwest entrance.
  
  

IMPORTANT ACCESS UPDATE: As of today, Monday, March 23, 2026, our 10th Street entrance is OPEN. Construction crews have blocked the Raceway Road entrance at this time.

Please keep in mind that the crews need to work in different spots, and they have informed us that they will shift our accessible entrance between 10th and Raceway as needed throughout the project. The entrance that is open today may be closed tomorrow.

The story behind our "Old Made New" 2026 Easter Centerpiece.

As florists, we spend much of our time looking forward—watching for the first buds of spring or the latest floral color trends. But this year, as we began planning for the 2026 Easter season, we found ourselves looking backward.

Deep in our collection, we rediscovered a treasure: the Thomas Kinkade's Easter Egg Hunt keepsake.

A Journey to 2008

Originally released in 2008, this hand-painted cottage was designed to capture the "Painter of Light’s" signature warmth. It depicts a scene many of us remember vividly: a sunny morning, a thatched-roof cottage, and the pure, frantic joy of children searching for hidden eggs in the garden.

We knew we couldn't just leave this piece on the shelf. In a world of "fast-decor," there is something deeply grounding about a high-quality collectible that was built to last. We decided to give this heritage piece a 2026 floral makeover.

Designing the "New" Meadow

To honor the original 2008 artistry, we wanted the flowers to feel like a wild, whimsical garden that had grown up around the cottage. Our lead designers curated a "floral recipe" that feels both nostalgic and fresh:

• Lavender Matsumoto Asters: For that classic "cottage garden" texture.
• Sky-Blue Delphinium: To bring the height and clarity of a clear April morning.
• Dark Pink Mini Carnations: For a playful pop of color that matches the hand-painted details on the container.
• Ming Fern & Statice: To create a lush, mossy floor for our tiny egg hunters.

More Than Just a Bouquet

The beauty of this arrangement is that it doesn't end when the flowers do. The Thomas Kinkade cottage is a heavy, high-quality keepsake that can be brought out year after year. It’s a piece of holiday history that you can pass down, just as it was passed to us.

A Very Limited Revival

Because these are authentic vintage containers from our archives, we have an extremely limited supply. Once our small "find" of 2008 containers is gone, this specific design will return to the archives for good.
