Autumn has a special talent for creating casket sprays and meaningful funeral designs. Honoring loved ones through flowers is something she approaches with compassion and intention, making each piece unique and heartfelt.

🌼 Her Floral Journey

Her start in floral design began nine years ago when a friend mentioned a job opening at a local florist. That simple tip set her on a path that eventually led her to us—and we’re so glad it did!

🌄 Life Outside the Shop

When she’s not designing, you’ll find Autumn exploring the outdoors on a good hike or playing bass guitar. She’s also currently studying Business Administration at Ivy Tech, adding even more to her already impressive skill set.

Our design room fills with the scent of evergreens, the sparkle of holiday ribbon, and buckets of beautiful seasonal blooms just waiting to be turned into something special. Christmas flowers have a warmth, charm, and festive spirit all their own — and today, we’re sharing the top stems our designers reach for when creating holiday magic.

Whether you love traditional Christmas colors or a more modern winter look, these are the flowers and greens that make our arrangements shine all season long.

🌹 Red & White Roses

Roses are timeless for a reason. Red roses bring rich holiday warmth, while white roses lend a soft, snowy elegance to winter designs. Paired with pine, cedar, berries, or gold accents, roses are the perfect blend of festive and refined.

🌲 Fresh Evergreens (Pine, Fir, Cedar)

Nothing says “Christmas is here!” quite like the fragrance of winter greens. These holiday staples add fullness, movement, and natural texture to nearly every seasonal design. They form the lush backdrop that makes Christmas bouquets feel cozy, classic, and welcoming.

🍒 Hypericum Berries & Seasonal Berries

🌼 Chrysanthemums (Mums)

Reliable, long-lasting, and available in gorgeous holiday hues, mums are a designer favorite. We use red, white, green, and sometimes bi-color varieties to add full, plush texture to arrangements. They complement everything from classic Christmas styles to more modern winter designs.

🌺 Carnations

Carnations shine during the holidays thanks to their ruffled petals, vibrant colors, and incredible durability. Red, white, and green varieties blend seamlessly into festive arrangements and stand up beautifully through days of decorating, gifting, and celebrating.

🌿 Holly & Variegated Greens

When we want that classic “Christmas card” feel, holly leaves and berries are our go-to. Paired with variegated greens like pittosporum or festive textures like seeded eucalyptus, they bring brightness and holiday charm to any design.

⭐ Alstroemeria

Alstroemeria adds delicate beauty and soft texture to Christmas arrangements. In white and red, it complements roses and mums perfectly, bringing depth and movement to bouquets and centerpieces alike.

While we don’t often use poinsettias inside vase arrangements, we can’t talk about Christmas flowers without mentioning the holiday icon. Join us for our UV Resin Workshop, where you’ll design and create two beautiful bracelets using pressed flowers and ultraviolet resin. Whether you’re brand new to resin art or already have a little experience, this workshop is perfect for you!

What You’ll Do:
✨ Design and craft two custom bracelets with pressed flowers and colorful embellishments.
✨ Learn step-by-step techniques from our friendly, experienced instructors—no experience needed!

You'll even learn how to create your own spider webs to give your masterpiece a truly festive touch!

Heads up, flower fans! Our intersection is getting a fantastic upgrade with a new roundabout installation scheduled to begin on or after August 1st and expected to be completed by November 15th. While this means some changes to your usual route, we want to assure you that Gillespie Florists will be OPEN FOR BUSINESS throughout the entire project!

We understand construction can be a bit tricky, so here's what you need to know:

• We're Open & Accessible: Both of our parking lot entrances will remain accessible. There will be temporary, periodic closures to individual entrances, but never simultaneously, so you'll always have a way in!

• Navigating the Closures:

  • No Access From the West or North: If you're coming from the west (via 10th Street traveling east from Ronald Reagan Pkwy) or from the north (via Raceway Road traveling south from 21st Street), the intersection will be closed.

  • Accessing Our Southwest Entrance: Please use northbound Raceway Road (traveling north from Rockville Road).

  • Accessing Our Northeast Entrance: Please use westbound 10th Street (traveling west from Country Club Road).

• "Road Closed" Barricades: You'll see "Road Closed 1 Mile Ahead" barricades at the intersections of Country Club Road and 10th Street, and Raceway Road and Rockville Road. Please note: Traffic is permitted past these barricades to gain access to Gillespie Florists (they will say "open to local traffic").

• During Construction: If one of our entrances is temporarily blocked, all traffic will be directed to utilize the alternate entrance.
