Gillespie Florists is Open!
You’ve probably seen the signs, the orange barrels, and the heavy machinery. The rumors are true: the intersection of 10th Street and Raceway Road is officially closed for the construction of a new roundabout! Work began on Monday, March 23, 2026.
While a new roundabout will make navigating our corner smoother in the future, we know that right now, "Road Closed" signs are the last thing you want to see when you're looking for flowers.
We are writing this post with one very clear and very important message for you:
WE ARE FULLY OPEN FOR BUSINESS!
That’s right! Barricades and all, Gillespie Florists is ready to fill your orders, help you browse, and make sure you have the perfect fresh flowers for any occasion.
Navigating to Us
Because we are located directly at the corner, our property can be accessed even when the main intersection is closed. As a customer, you are officially considered "Local Traffic," which means you are permitted to drive through the initial barricades (located at 10th & Country Club or Raceway & Rockville) to reach our parking lot.
We have two main entrances that we can swap between as construction moves:
- From the East (10th Street): Travel West on 10th Street from Country Club Road to reach our Northeast entrance.
- From the South (Raceway Road): Travel North on Raceway Road from Rockville Road to reach our Southwest entrance.
IMPORTANT ACCESS UPDATE: As of today, Monday, March 23, 2026, our 10th Street entrance is OPEN. Construction crews have blocked the Raceway Road entrance at this time.
Please keep in mind that the crews need to work in different spots, and they have informed us that they will shift our accessible entrance between 10th and Raceway as needed throughout the project. The entrance that is open today may be closed tomorrow.
